Presentations and Workshops
I was trained in the practitioner-scholar model which emphasizes the importance of viewing how research can inform clinical practice. I believe that learning is not just for those who are clinicians, but for those who are interested in engaging with others on a more meaningful level. I provide an array of learning opportunities for individuals in the community. These opportunities range from guest blog contributions, in-person workshops and local radio features. Some of my previous workshops have include; substance abuse prevention, forming healthy boundaries, and addressing multicultural concerns in therapy. Visit my media page for more information.
Individual Psychotherapy Services
I provide individual therapy to adults , age 17 and older, from both a long term and short model of psychotherapy. While trained as a generalist clinical clinician I have experience working with mood disorders (ex. depression, anxiety), substance abuse concerns, interpersonal trauma and multicultural issues. I practice at The Pinnacle Center which is a group practice located in Waldorf, Maryland.
Group Psychotherapy Services
I describe group psychotherapy as a way to practice the skills and insight that you gained in individual therapy services in a safe environment. In group therapy you get to ask the questions, try new ways of forming relationships, and get instant feedback regarding your interpersonal style all within the safety of a therapeutic space. Typical groups that I run are a Person of Color Therapy group and an Interpersonal Process Group.
